my 2002 pontiac grand am wont start. changed the fuel pump but it still wont start.?

i took it to firestone for a diagnostic i was told it was the fuel pump. i changed it. it ran for a day but now it wont start. its doing the same thing its turns like if it wants to start but it looks like the new fuel pump is not working. could it be something else that is not sending the power to the pump. i was told that it could be the computer of the car that is going bad. sometimes it will start but sometimes it wont. what can i do? Help
