I would recommend changing the plugs, pcv valve, air filter, fuel filter, and getting it flushed out. Maybe even new plug wires while you are doing it. Best of luck...
immediately after starting it. New plugs? I have a 2002 Ford Escape with 182000 miles on it. I have always kept up with oil/filter changes; however, I have NEVER had a tune up. My car has recently began stalling immediately after I try to start it. This problem happens about 25% of the time; however, one it successfully starts the idle is smooth and it doesn't die at any other time. I have noticed that after it stalls I have to pump the gas pedal to get it to start (after once the engine revs). Do you think I just need new plugs or something else?
dirty fuel system and since its fuel injected pumping gas pedal does nothing older car had carburators which had gas in them and new cars fuel systems do not an dit only gets fuel if motor is cranking over dirty fuel system lack of fuel
