most likely it is your shift solenoid.it is a computerized control on the side of ur transmission that calculates speed and torque to tell the transmission to shift.it is a common dodge problem.i have run into it more than once.fist see if your check engine light is on.even though it says check engine the computer in the car will still store codes for transmission problems.another problem with that particular car is the computers themselves
