My 2002 Chevy Astro Van transmission!!?

Hi, I would get it to a shop and have the filter changed ,plus fluid.Have the operator check things out for you and you will not have to guess at things. You will know what you have to do. Good Luck
 
I have a Astro van that I think the transmission is going bad or is bad. About a week ago it wouldn't catch the gears. I would put it in reverse or forward but it wouldn't go. I got two mechanics to come take a look and they both told me it was the transmission. Well yesterday I decide that I would move the van since I wouldn't be using it until I have the money to get it fix. Well I turn it on thinking I was going to have to push it. The van went forward and backwards. I had the impression that when a transmission is out, the car won't move. I left it on for a while and then try it again and it won't move again. Is there anything that is getting hot and making the van not catch gears? ANy ideas
