There is a fuel system recall on all 2001 Ford Focus cars involving contamination of the filter in the fuel delivery module and can reduce or block the flow of fuel to the engine.
My car's check engine light came on almost a year ago and since it has been running like a diesel. It sometimes hesitates. They say that it also can result in loss of power (which I have experienced prior, but realized it had to do with holes in my vacuum hoses).
Ford told me that I am under warranty but I will need to pay $72 to have a check engine done, and if that is one of the problems, they will fix for free. Is this worth doing?
