light to come on.? My 2000 Lincoln LS hesitates on acceleration, sometimes causing the engine light to come on especially when it rains. The dealership first replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the mass airflow sensor but that only cleared the problem temporarily. Next they thought a coil assembly on a spark plug was the problem but this only temporarily cleared the problem when replaced - it soon came back in a day or 2. This approach was repeated on 3 more spark plugs. At $200 per spark plug I felt they were just shooting in the dark and did not have the problem identified so ended the insanity. I realized they were disconnecting the battery during the services so I did the same when the surging became bad enough and it cleared the problem for a day or 2. Is this an electrical or computer issue?
