my 2000 jeep grand cherakee's fan wont work?

my car the other day overheated so i pulled to the side and had my family check it out i noticed that the fan wasn't working so i bought a motor for it. but we stuck the old fan on the battery and it still worked. so we replaced the thermostat and heat sensor.. the thermostat was shot.. but the problem were having the fan still doesn't work..and the car is still over heating the motor works when its hooked up to the BATTERY but it doesn't work hooked up the right way...please help
 
its the temp switch thats bad. go to the autoparts and pick up a new 1 then you can find the bad 1 on the front of the engine by comparing the 2
