My 2 year old has a Bilateral long leg hip spica cast?

He fractured his bone above the knee and under the hip. . he was given this Bilateral long leg hip spica cast and now it is super difficult to carry him around or do anything. . one question i had was can we carry him upward meaning. . his head on our shoulders, belly to belly, or is this bad? . any kind of advice is appreciated thank you
