My 1st gen 30 gb Zune keeps flashing on and off ?

I just got my replacement battery for my 30gb 1st gen zune and it wont stop flashing on and off but this only happens when its hooked up to my sync cord but when its unhooked it wont respond ive tried the old battery but it does the same thing please help oh almost forgot the reason i got a new battery was because i encountered the leap year bug i decided to get a new battery while i waited for 4 days but now it just does'nt want to work please help me
