I had a rebuilt tranny put into my car 6 mths ago but I'm getting the same symptom I had before my tranny went out on me. When I’m idling at a light or stop sign, my engine knocks (engine revs up and down in short frequency – like a dog pulling on a leash in short bursts) and I can’t pull away smoothly. In fact, the car actually rocks back and forth instead of moving forward when I slowly take my foot off the pedal. Recently, as I cruise to a stop (foot off the pedal), the transmission seems to shift down, up again and repeat the cycle. I was told there is no problem with the tranny but a problem with the idle control sensor. Any idea what’s wrong with my car? Thanks.
