My 1999 dodge stratus wont start?

the lights will come on but it wont start it does not make any sounds anyone no wat it cud be? My friends were messing w the wires for the radio trying to get it to work and then tryed to turn it on but it wouldnt start could tht have anything to do w it? It was running perfectly fine except the power steering pump needed to b replaced
