...engine but it won't ignite. Why? I noticed an oil leak earlier. We fixed the leak, put some fresh engine oil in and let it settle inside. Yet, the car still won't start. A friend of mine, whose father is a mechanic, says that a sensor in the engine still thinks my car is overheated. If that's the case, then what sensor would it be?

seems that your posting is not giving all the information nedded to form a good opinion of the cure.
 
engine coolant temp sensor,exhaust temp sensor, o2 sensor, bad coils, or wires, see if a squirt of starting fluid will make it fire , if it does, you may just have a dead fuel pump
 
I'm not quite sure a sensor would stop the car from starting, but it may be the thermostat. Does it crank but just doesn't ignite? Maybe the air fuel mixture is messed up somehow? If nothing else works, you might want to do a compression test.
 
The only sensor that detects the "engine" temp is the WATER TEMP SENSOR (or the coolant temp sensor). But it will not stop the car from starting.

As to exactly why your car don't start, you are not giving enough info. You say

"won't let fuel in"

What do you mean by that? How do you know? Did you test your fuel injectors?

I have a feeling that you don't really mean that (not letting the fuel in). By saying the wrong things you are really making it MORE difficult to for us here (and the mechanics) to figure out what is wrong.
