I'm stuck a city away from where I need to be... please help!
Here are some details:

1. The radio/lights work, but when I turn the ignition, nothing happens. It does not even try to turn over.
2. A Jumpstart was unsuccessful. Nothing happened.
3. There is no corrosion around the battery - it's supplying power elsewhere to the car (lights and radio work) but not the starter.
4. This happened before, and we disconnected the daytime running lights monitor, which corrected the problem. Now it's still disconnected and the problem is happening again.
5. Shifting the car out of park and back to park does not correct this either.
6. The car will not start in neutral either.

I really appreciate your help, any further information that I can supply, please let me know!

*update*
We whacked the starter a couple times with a wrench and it starts now - looks like I'll be getting the starter replaced, is $470 CDN reasonable for this?

Could it be the "neutral safety switch"? This is a switch on the transmission or transmission selector (==somewhere==) that limits starting to neutral and park. If this switch fails, then it won't start.

its probally the starter.
the same thing happened to my truck. and i didnt know what it was.
so i took it to a mechanic and he told me it was the starter.
so i got i t replaced it and it worked fine.
