...can possibly be wrong? My cars steering column locked up on me today and it wasn't funny. I got home safely, THANK GOD, and checked the reservoir. BONE DRY!! I couldn't believe it. How can the car be leaking all this fluid and I never saw it? It has snowed here in NY 3 or 4 times in the last 2 weeks and everything is white making it easy to see a leak. Anyway, I filled the reservoir. Ran the car, opened the cap and BONE DRY again. I pulled back the car and in the snow was all the fluid I just poured in. What kind of repairs am I looking at and what will the $$$$$ be??

Thanks, C.L.

sounds like just a hose 25 for the hose 75 for labor unless u are doityourselfer to find it fill the reservoir up agian then have someone start the car and move the steering back and forth while tou look for the leak or vice versa whatever you do becareful if a hose is busted it could squirt fluid up at you good luck.

Well it can be a leak in the hose or at the end of the rack & pinion.
Most likely it is a hole in the hose.

Either a blown hose or a blown seal on the PS pump. If you want to diagnose the problem yourself, fill the PS reservoir, start the car then crawl under it to see where the PS fluid is leaking. $$$$ depends on whether you want to diagnose and fix the problem yourself or whether you want an auto repair shop to fix it.
