My 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix door is stuck?

If you pull the handle the mechanism is functioning. It isn't the lock. And I believe it is the part on the bottom of the door where a set of teeth like pincher things hold on to a small bar to keep the door shut. And removing the panel is not a option because you cant get to the screws to remove it.
