My 1993 pontiac bonneville won't start. Makes no noise, and a security light comes

you may have to contact Pontiac to do a reset on the security settings. It sounds as if someone has tampered with your car, or a malfunction
 
on the dash. What could it? I went to start my car this morning, and it won't start. It doesn't turn over or do anything...No clicking, no noise at all. All the lights work and the dinger works. There is a securtiy light that comes on on the left hand side of the dash. Anyone have any ideas? I thought maybe the starter, but wouldn't it make some kind of noise when i tried to start it? And what is this security light??
