After changing the oil in my Honda CBR, it is running weak and some white smoke is coming from the exhaust. I ran and rode the bike for 5 minutes before the oil change and everything was fine. I changed the oil using 10w40 mineral oil. I drained all the oil from both the drain and the oil filter after removing the headers. After installing a new oil filter, while installing the headers, one of the bolts broke off that secures one side of one cylinders header. I tightened all headers snug and added 3.4 liters of mineral oil. The dipstick indicates proper oil levels while the bike is centered.
Now, I can see only two reasons my oil change could have caused the bike to run weak with white smoke. The previous owner could have used synthetic oil. Would using mineral oil cause the engine to run bad after synthetic has been used in the past?
Are the headers a cause of low back pressure since one of the cylinder ports has 1 of 2 bolts missing? It is still very snug and tight.
Please educate me or confirm any possible causes to the problems and I would greatly appreciate a solution.
