...while what should i do? Ok, so i checked my oil before i drove a 300 mile round trip stuff. I checked it and thought it looked a little bit low. So I added some oil to it, obviously I added way too much and now i have emptied it back to normal levels after at least 400 miles of driving on too much oil. What damage could I have done to my truck? (it's a 1988 toyota pickup) It is sort of making different noises when it runs. What can i do?

Over-filling the engine will cause the crank to 'whip' the oil, creating foam and inferior lubrication due to the air bubbles.
What sort of different noises are you hearing?

You could have fouled the plugs, caused slush in your crank case which could lead to oil starvation and ruin your oil pump. I could have also blown down into your tail pipe and toasted your catalytic converter.
