my 1981 gs450 suzuki wont start or even turn on.. no lights or anything!?

i replaced the stator and rectifier cause they tested bad and also bought a new battery, and i thought that would fix my problem but when i turn the key switch to on still does nothing.. thinking maybe it was my ignition switch gone bad too and it may need replacing.. is that it or what else could be my problem and how could i fix it?
 
it sounds like you either forgot to secure the ground from frame to negative on the bike and battery.
Or you might have got the battery connected back to front, if so you could have wrecked your new rectifier and regulator.
