is suffering from anxiety/panic. She has a two year history of occasional siezures, meaning in the last two years she has had maybe 3 or 4, she is on medication for them. The Dr. feels she will grow out of them. Anyway, for the past 6-7 months she is suffering from panic and or anxiety. She has gone from a happy-go-lucky young woman to a scared to even leave the house girl.

My sister does have her in therapy and just this past week the Dr. suggested starting her on some type of anti-anxiety drug. I do not know what drug she is thinking of right now. Anyway, my sister is very worried about this and is looking for more natural remedies. Would any of you know of any natural remedies she could try first?

It is so sad to hear my sister tell me about her daughter is afraid to leave the house unless my sister is with her and now just the other night she was even afraid to go into her own room at night because the door was closed and the light was off. She just KNEW somebody was in her room!

Please, how can I help my sister help her daughter? She is starting high school in just a few short weeks and my sister is afraid she won't go. At the end of the school year in June my niece called my sister daily begging her to come and pick her up because she just KNEW she was going to have another siezure, which she never did have another siezure.

It's just so sad, what can I do?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The only thing I can tell you,is my experience with anxiety.I was given Ativan,
(Lorazapam). It helped me to such an extent that I haven't taken it for five years.
It is given at my Crisis Center (I/V wise),for emergency new patients.I am still on Paxil(controlled release only) for my depression.Your family Dr.can prescribe
Ativan. It is a controlled drug, but gave me no problems with withdrawal. When my new shrink prescribed Ativan at my initial appointment,I stood up and paced for
the entire appt.It was erabaressing indeed. Good luck....Bill

Hi Bill, I'm confused, are you saying Ativan is a good thing? When you say that your new shrink wanted to give you Ativan you said you paced so I thinking you didn't want it again??? Sorry, I'm just not sure if you did or did not like it and thought that it helped.
