My 14-year air hunger journey

DM1: Have you ever been tested for sleep apnea?

I just received a letter from our school district telling us about a teacher that was sick for over 3 years before doctors were able to diagnose a clotting disorder that had lodged blood clots in her lungs. She can't be around perfume, cologne, and other smells because the lung tissue swells so it's difficult for oxygen to pass from her lungs into her bloodstream.

She doesn't have a reaction to soaps, deordorants, or shampoos, but it's the perfumes.

So, the school has banned the kids from wearing the perfumes and colognes. I've developed a sensitivity to these smells as well but I think mine is from hormones.

Do you ever have reactions around smells and perfumes?

Never been tested for sleep apnea. My wife says that I am a quiet sleeper. Wouldn't SA create some snoring or other weird noises at night?

I do, however, have reactions to smells and perfumes. In fact, just yesterday I got a whiff of a lady's perfume which made me sneeze several times. There is a bug spray I've used around the yard that makes me sneeze, too. The reason why I thought that my air hunger was allergy-related was that 1-2 times per week my nose would run like I had a cold or something. I've taken some prescription and OTC allergy meds, with just little benefit.

dm1: I was just scrolling through the board and saw an ad up on top for emphysema. Have you been tested for that?

I think people with sleep apnea do make a breathing noise. I've never seen anyone sleeping who has it. I know people with it but have never seen them sleep.

The lady that I spoke about before says she doesn't sneeze or have a runny nose. It's not the typical reaction like you'd get from an allergy. I think it has alot to do with environmental toxins too. I can't stand being around gasoline, cigarettes, wood smoke, car and diesel exhaust, cleaning chemicals, and bleach. I have estrogen dominance and all these things are called xenoestrogens. I can't eat MSG, soy, be out in the sun long, be around fluorescent lights, EMF's (cell phones, cordless phones, TV, computers!!!! look where I'm at right now!!!) Plastics bother me and the new and full moon. They all make my head go crazy and make me have seizures. Red meat too - it's filled with hormones.

We live in a toxic world and it's killing us. I hope you find some answers to your issues.
