...long time can any body help? he is 10 years old and ive been threw about 3 new bikes with him he does not seam to have any balance what so ever ive run beside him till i cant any more when i let go he drops like a rock

have him ride down the street and talk to him and tell him he;s doing good. but when you KNOW he's not watching you and he's going at it right, let go and see how long he goes. When he gets to the stop sign he'll probably stop and notice you arn't there and see what he did. It took my five months to learn...... and i used four different bikes. Finally my AUnt did that and i did it, even though i was made at her for it. Just do it sneeky and he'll be fine.

Training wheels. Let him use them for a couple weeks until he feels hes ready to ride with out them. At lease a good week or so. Hes 10 so I would say at lease 1-2weeks. When he feels hes ready take em off and let em go.

Training wheels help. I finally learned to ride a bike when I was 12... and I was a BIG 12. I remember leaning at rather an angle on the training wheels since they're made for smaller bikes -- until I learned the trick of balancing properly.

My dad taught me how to ride a bike, which still amazes me as I am somewhat uncoordinated.

First he took me to the top of a low grassy hill. I just stuck my legs out to the side and rolled down to get the feel of keeping the bike balanced, which was a new thing after the training wheels.

I did that for a while, and when I had it down I practiced on flat ground. I would push off and my dad would count the number of times I pedaled before I had to put my legs down to keep from falling. Each time I would try and beat my previous record until eventually it was easy.

I hope that helps, and good luck. I know it can be frustrating.
