molars on Tuesday, November 2...? My 10 year old daughter just had a chrome crown placed over one of her baby molars on Tuesday, November 2...Today it is Friday, Nov 5th and she still has swelling in her cheek area...They said this was normal but for HOW LONG? The reason they placed the crown was because she had had a filling in that spot done about 6 mos ago and a piece of it fell out while brushing her teeth aweek ago(she had had a root canal in that spot about 6 months ago as well, then the dentist placed a filling over it and said she wouldn't take the step to do a crown unless necessary)...My daughter says it feels swollen and there is some pain...Her cheek still looks swollen compared to the other one, from the inside, and is sensitive to the touch..The dental assistant told me that the reason for the swelling was because the anesthetic shot that was given had to be done in a very small space...the whole process only took about an hour for them... My question is, what should I do? What does the swelling mean? Will it last until the crown is removed? CAN I have it removed so the darn swelling will LEAVE? I gave her Ibprofen and it gave her relief for about an hour or so and then she said it was bugging her again... What do I do? PLEASE help. I don't want to panic...
