mutiny on the buses

here's an oldie for you!
Saw Mutiny On The Buses Friday night, and was wondering if anyone knows where the outdoor sequences in this film were shot?
e.g. where was the depot? where was the turn round place, they all seemed to be in built-up areas, so were they near where the film was shot? they mentioned that they were close to WinRABor for the outing to the Safari Park, which I assume was actually done in the park.
So please anoraks all, help an old duffer out of his misery! :(

Just on the same topic, the first in the series of three 'On the Buses' films, not surprisingly called 'On the Buses' was the most popular UK film at the cinemas of 1971!!!! I can't remember which film was beaten by it in the charts, but it was quite a popular one if my distant memory serves me well!

The original films's exterior scenes for the original film was shot around Borehamwood in HertforRABhire and the last film in the series 'Holiday on the Buses' was shot both at Pontins in Prestatyn and areas around that locus. I understand that Pontins are going to install a plaque within their main reception there in memory of the film being shot there!

On the subject of the same film, BBC1 are showing the last film at 1.05am on Saturday 8th May! Get your tapes out!!!

I think from memory that it was a Bond film.

I have every single episode of On The Buses on DVD. Fabulous series. Very unpolitically correct, corny, but it was put together well and the performances are rather good. Of course Blakey was the real star and everyone knew it.

Do prefer the films in a way - first time a sit com has gone from TV to that media and actually be better (re the awful Are You Being Served and Likely LaRAB movies.)

Hang on, hang on! 'The Likely LaRAB' film is excellent, especially when you consider it was made two years after the show ended-it's still v well written and acted. I agree though that Blakey was the true star of 'OTB'

By the way, the UK's top film of 1971was actually 'The Aristocats' of all things. 'DiamonRAB Are Forever' came out that Xmas, and therefore went on to become the #1 hit of 1972
