Me myself and I

I am 13, 14 and august, and I love to act, sing and dance. Acting is my favorite, and singing my second. But I love musical theatre! Acting and singing are my passions! I have done lots of plays, and have taken classes for theatre and musical theatre... but wanted to look at summer camps for this summer, and future summers for the performing arts. I was looking at Stagedoor Manor, and Young Actors Camp, but saw that they are VERY expensive, and I dont know about Young actors camp, but I saw that Stagedoor didnt offer financial aid. So I was wondering if anyone knew if there is anyway I could get financial aid, or if there are other great alternatives, that are either less expensive, or that do offer financial aid. I live in the bay area so california might be preferable, but somewhere like NY might be okay too because I will visit family there anyway.
THANK YOU SOO MUCH!

I would say look into your local community theater. It is a great place to start and to make connections with people. Most summer programs in NY or LA are expensive and there isn't much funding. Be very careful of scams- make sure that a program, especially if you will be spending a significant amount of money is accredited. Schools like the New York Film Academy which are all over the world are a scam. At your school get involved with their theater and check the community programs where you live. Good Luck! Keep your Wits about you!
