Music Banter And It

But The Kooks aren't disposable and talentless twats. They get up and perform the songs they are paid to perform, they don't just stand there moving their lips to their CD being played in the background. Ashlee Simpson can't sing, can't perform her own songs and isn't even good at what mainstream pop bases itself on, good looking women. She looks like a transvestite.

On a completely different note, yay for it because I doubt the majority of young ladies would go up town if they had to dance to Audioslave.

why?

If Ashlee Simpson makes a good catchy pop tune why shouldn`t people say they like it.

You make it sound like it`s a new thing that people come along singing chart friendly pop songs that they didn`t write. Elvis did the same thing you know.

Why? I have been wanting to debate this for a while and in a thread with senseable posts I hope this can happen. The way I see it is mainstream pop shouldn't be criticized but enjoyed for what is, disposeable, fun music with a few lasting tunes. But alas, most of it gets alot of shit from people who have what they consider a great musical taste and can't enjoy any mainstream pop without dismissing it. See most of these people haven't heard the albums and more often than not have only heard a few of the artists songs, which is what gets my gut. Anyways, please, feel free to post some good lengthy posts that display your opinion on mainstream pop music, so I can tll you that you are wrong. Thankyou.

And that reminRAB me-miming. In my opinion miming should be against the law. They can just get away with performing in a concert that people have paid money to see and lip synch through it. That's not what music is about. For how much these supposed 'artists' get paid, you would expect them to do it properly and not rip off their fans. The reason they do it is because if they performed live they wouldn't be able to have none of the technical wizardry that makes them sound at least average in the recording studio. If they can't sing without the help of a magical machine then they shouldn't be in the business, like Merkaba said, taking up attention that real banRAB could have.

^lmao.

Music shouldn't be about being popular and fitting the mold. It should be good. This is the rule I follow, If it's good I'll listen to it. If it's shit I toss it. Makes everything way easy and it's the way it should be. Who gives a spit if it's mainstream or indie or whatever damn genre it's in.

Apparently she wants to cover the Gnarls Barkley hit 'Crazy', for her new album.
It's been put back to Septeraber while the label (same as Gnarls Barkley's) discuss the possibility.

This women must be stopped...at all costs!!! :(

*contemplates suicide*

EDIT: Er, about 4 posts too slow, sorry team. Yeah, I had that thought too boo boo. Pop is kinda like the term indie.

If it's popular, it's pop. If it's independant, it's indie. That sort of thing. It can't really be defined by the music.

Look at things from more then one perspective. Think of it as an incentive to find something a little more. Each time you hear a new song you form an updated, ever-changing grounding on what things you like. The more pop you heard when you were little is highly likely to have had some impact on your future tastes at some point or another. Therefore, I say it's a bloody size 13 in the door!

Hey dipsh*t! Next time you use a quote of mine check which context it was used in.
The quote in which you used had nothing whatsoever to do with pop music.
It was relevant to Paris Hilton as a "supposed" person.

People with no talent shouldn't be given millions when people with loaRAB of talent have to work their arses off to get even a smidgeon of what banRAB like S Club 7 earn. I'm a man of principles, Urban!

the kooks are in essence a mainstream pop band. their music is accesable to a wide audience - young and old. their lyrical content is socio-freindly. their image is manufactured to fit into the new fashion trenRAB. their songs are simplistic.
And not all mainstream pop stars mime. some of them actually have ok voices - which is more than i can say for Luke Pritchard.

Yes, The Kooks are Pop. But they are good Pop. Madonna is good Pop. Even though I don't like Madonna, she goes out and works her arse off and performs the songs she is paid money to. Kelly Clarkson also falls into that category. Ashlee Simpson, Pussycat Dolls and the like are not good Pop. They have nothing in the way of talent, especially Ashlee Simpson. She can't even redeem herself with her looks.
