i also saw the film today and thought it was going to be a bit cheesy but was pleasantly surprised by it i am glad i went to see it but one question that keeps coming to mind was hugh grant and drew barrymore really singing
Saw it last night .. loved .. loved .. loved it!!! It just made me smile the whole way through! Hugh's dancing is sooo funny!
I ws searching for the songs 2 .. but the soundtrack isnt out yet .. next week I think .. so there isnt anywhere to dowload it from .. But you can listen to the songs on myspace.com/music
great entertaining film. Pop! were quite definately based on Wham! and George Michael. Did anyone notice the similarity of the ballad he sang at the reunion night to Careless Whisper? i think the song was called Meaningless kiss but even the sax intro sounded similar to Careless Whisper. I actually came out of the cinema with pop goes my heart going round in my head. By the way hang around for the end credits where the 80's pop video is played again. Did anyone else read the pop ups. They were really funny. So dont leave the second the end credits start. Watch the video at the end. It all adRAB to the enjoyment of the film.
by the way if anyone is interested, the soundtrack is avaliable exclusively (i think) on iTunes UK (even though you cannot buy it until next monday) - search for music and lyrics then in the album box click see all to download the soundtrack - very good IMO!
Thanks er, really wanted to listen to some of the tracks again after seeing the film yesterday, but couldn't find it on itunes until I read your post.
Am now the proud owner of the whole album!!
It's more 'Two Week's Notice' than 'Notting Hill', and lacks the subtle polish of the Richard Curtis-era Hugh Grant films. Despite feeling distinctly American, it's still a good wheeze and Hugh does what Hugh does best; the bumbling Brit who on this outing is a former 80's pop star. The music's good though!
I loved it and i also laughed out loud quite a bit, towarRAB the end when they sang the song i was tapping my oot away itmade me smile from ear to ear, a good old fashioned chick flick that was fuuny, quirky and romantic.
10/10 i would say. If you don;t want to see it then see it when it hits the shops, you won't be disappointed.
