Muscle/Joint; neck/shoulder; topical relief advice...

Hi...

I've been using ActivOn topical analgesic - Ultra Strength Joint & Muscle since it came out. I believe they are discontinuing all "ActivOn" products.

I have chronic neck and shoulder blade pain. The cause is most likely a mixture of many things including anxiety, my posture and I just recalled (2) accidents I had prior to 12 years of age as I read another thread here. I've also been told I may have TMJ & need an MRI as I get all sorts of headaches. The clinic doc actually said, "You need a job w/health insurance". WOW, why didn't I think of that

I also have digestive issues (since childhood - anxiety related too), Atypical depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Adult ADD and OC picking. Woo! My goal is to not acquire any further labels . I DO see a psychiatrist for my mental "blessings". I have no insurance though so the eye doc, dentist, MRI and all else is on hold.

So,
I need an alternative to ActivOn! It's worked well for me...even headaches (better than HeadOn). I can't find a lot of review/opinion info on stick/spray, no touch muscle & joint relief.

Can anyone suggest any products??

I read some reviews of Blue-Emu on Walgreens.com and it sounds good. I'd have to use my fingers, but it doesn't have menthol. My cat goes CRAZY around menthol. It's not that big of a problem currently as I'm used to it and can get her away, but ActivOn only has 4.127% menthol. Looking at the store everything out now has at Least double that...and the Walgreens generic pain spray has 16% menthol! I think she would tackle me. Ha ha...I'm not completely opposed to menthol, but 16% seems a bit much. Blue-Emu also has a spray which does contain menthol. Anyone have experience w/that?

Also heard that Tiger Balm was good.

ALL advice is appreciated...and I do intend on starting regular stretching again...but I also want something the muscle soreness and for headaches if possible. I get every kind.

Thanks!

P.S. I cannot use Icey Hot. It burns SO bad. My skin is sensitive and ActivOn has dried it & not been perfect for my skin, but it's been worth the healing effect.

I have severe rheumatoid arthritis and I've tried tons of stuff, the best thing I ever found was a no-name prescription ibuprofen cream (2%) my doc ordered from a compound pharmacy. No insur so I paid cash, it was 27$ for a tub that lasted two months.

It didn't help my joints but really worked on muscle pain, including my neck/shoulder spasms. After several years of using it, it stopped working, my doc said I developed a tolerance to it.
