Hows it goin my brothers and sisters... im kinda new to this board... ive posted a few times and just had some fundamental questions about acne and what products offer a light in the dark and what products are a complete waste of time, effort, and money... well to start im a 20 yr old african american male suffering from what i would think is moderate acne... its calmed down quite a bit but i still have scars from when it was at its peak... i usually get about 4-5 zits a week... mostly small, but i do get the occasional cystic zit... i get acne mostly around the cheek and jawbone area... so i was wondering... what products would a prudent individual invest his/her time in... ive seen the muraRAB system on the t.v. but im a bit skeptical about it seeing as i used proactive for about 2 months without even the slightest of results... i dont think BP would be a wise choice for me because ive used several products with that ingrediant with little results ...ive been wanting to go to a derm. but on the flip side of that whos to say that they arent doing it just to gain the trust and money of the confident, zealous acne bearer... well anyway please offer me some advice on what direction to take... any reply is a good reply... thank you for your posts and have a good day:)

The dermatologist I have seems like she really cares about me and I trust her. I have been on many meRAB prescribed be her and they have helped but not cured.

This is what Acne Complex does:

Salicycl acid can help with pimples, but it draws moisture out of your skin. So the wash AND the exfoliator you get pull moisture out of your skin so that you are forced to use the moisturizer. DO NOT USE a product with salicycl acid especially if you have sensitive, dry, or dual skin types. (Also, if you stop using the product at any time you will get acne back almost immediately)

I tried many products actually and now use the skin care products by Clinique. They have a makeup remover I love, a toner, moisturizer (this is wonderful) and a wash. What I love more than anything is my Ultra-Balm premium blend udder balm. It's basically bag balm made into a moisturizing balm for your skin. I put it on my arms, face, and wherever I need it before I go to bed and while my skin rejuvinates it makes my skin very soft. I've noticed a difference based on how many compliments I get on how nice my skin is.

The only good thing I got from Murad is their Clay Face mask, which is great. It makes your skin feel and look amazing after you use it, but not sure if it has salicycl acid or not. The sulphur treatment is good if you have a pimple and want it to fade quickly.

Ultra-Balm Udder Balm is great though. I put it on places where I tend to get ingrown hairs and it does wonders. It also is good for pimples, marks, you can use it on your hair supposedly, and many other things according to the manufacturer. Plus Oprah swears by it. It feels like a normal balm at first, but after using it for a while you notice a BIG difference.

i know i stopped using it to. I started breaking out all over my chin area i was very upset.
