Internet Movie Database has a page for MUMMY 3 knowing my luck its been there for a few months. But anyway, Brendan is rumored to be starring in it, i hope the original cast members return.

Here it is > http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0859163/maindetails

I cant wait, they might release it for summer 2008 so it be in competition with JURASSIC PARK IV!! IN 2008.

Mummy was great, Mummy Returns was absolute rubbish - wall to wall noise, too many characters, atrocious CGI etc - the worst form of summer blockbuster.

Definitely not looking forward to a Mummy 3, even with a change of director and stars.

Oooh, I'd definitely see that at the cinema. Wonder how many years after TMR they'd make it? I.e. how old will the kid be this time ^_^

I'm a little worried about this movie now...no Rachel Wiez... :(
I hope they don't get someone to replace her...I hate it when they do that in a franchise. But I wonder how they explain her absence..hope she isn't killed off oRABcreen.

I am sure I have read that they are looking at Alex Pettyfer (Stormbreaker) to be playing Alex O'Connell so I get the feeling that the Mummy 3 will be set a few years after the Mummy Returns. Mummy 3 is going to be released in May 2008 but will face competition from Indiana Jones 4!

The Mummy films are brilliant. I watched The Mummy Returns again on ITV2 last week and I still thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it was about the third time i've seen it. However, I do think that the CGI effects look a bit outdated now - in particular the big Scorpion King monster thing at the end.

It's a pity Rachel Weisz isn't in the next one, but I really hope the amazingly funny John Hannah will return. :D

Here is more casting news for The Mummy 3 from Dark Horizons:

"Universal Pictures and director Rob Cohen have set 26-year-old Australian actor Luke Ford ("Kokoda," "Junction Boys," TV's "McLeod's Daughters") to star in the third installment of "The Mummy" reports Variety.

In "The Mummy" sequel, Ford will play Alex O'Connell, the 20ish son of adventurer Rick O'Connell (Fraser), who journeys into the forbidden tombs of China and into the Himalayas, where they run into a new shape-shifting mummy, a former Chinese emperor who was cursed by a female wizard.

Jet Li plays the mummy, Michelle Yeoh the wizard. The studio has tested six actresses to replace Rachel Weisz in the role of Evelyn Carnahan O'Connell after she declined to reprise.

The move potentially sets up the franchise for future films to be carried by Ford. The young actor beat out four much more established actors in screen tests with Fraser.

Shooting will begin in Montreal on July 27th, and then move to China. The film is slated to open July 2008, just before the Olympics begin in Beijing."

It's a shame because not too long ago Rachel Weisz said she would do the third one. Maybe she read the script and thought 'f**k that'.

I am sure I read that she was already comitted to film two other films so she couldnt fit The Mummy 3 into her schedule. However that could be rubbish. I just hope the CGI is better in The Mummy 3 than it was in The Mummy Returns as that ruined the second film for me!

Here is somemore casting news for The Mummy 3:

"Maria Bello ("A History of Violence," Coyote Ugly") will replace Rachel Weisz in the third installment of Universal Pictures "The Mummy" reports Variety.

Bello will takeover Weisz' role of Evelyn Carnahan O'Connell. Brendan Fraser, Luke Ford, Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh are already set to star in the Rob Cohen-directed film.

Scripted by "Smallville" creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, the film brings the O'Connells and their full-grown son (Ford) to the forbidden tombs of China and the Himalayas, where they battle a shape-shifting mummy, a former Chinese emperor (Li) cursed by a wizard (Yeoh)."

Im sill hoping that Rachel Weisz will chance her mind and deciede to do The Mummy 3 even though I know it is never going to happen!
