Hi there, this is the first time posting on this board and I would like some input on my X-ray and CT Scan results.
X-ray: slight lurabar scoliosis is present, convex to the right, posterior alignment is normal. Mild disc narrowing at L4-L5 consisitent with early degenerative disease. Tiny osteophytes are present. The SI joints are normal in appearance.
CT Scan: Vertebral heights and lateral alignment are preserved. There is minimal disc spacing narrowing at L4-L5 with minor spondylitic lipping in the lurabar spine anteriorly.
: At L4-L5 there is concentric diffuse disc bulging, moderate ligamentous hypertrophic changes with moderate central stenosis and no disc herniation.
: At L5-S1 there is concentric diffuse disc bulging, moderate to severe ligamentous hypertrophic changes with moderate to severe central stenosis, and no disc herniation.
: No fracture of subluxation is identified.
About 5 years ago I had hurt my back while lifting a box. At that time my physical therapist said it was due to my SI joint. But I had never had any type of scans or x-rays done at that time. And since then I have had problems with my right leg and low back on quite a few seperate occassions.
My job is mostly physical with alot of repetitive motions (lifting, bending, twisting, etc.), and I am walking on cement floors for at least 7 or more hours a day. I am also pulling a large amounts of weight around (500lbs-2500lbs). And I have been doing this for over 17 years.
Do you think these changes are just degenerative? Or could it be because I was never diagnosed properly? It seems like alot of things wrong with my back considering I am only 38 years old.
Thanks for all your help.
