what was supposed to be a 4 hour surgery from the front
ended up being a 12 hour from the front and back. anyway.
i never stopted hurting. they said they were done with me and if i still hurt to go to pain dr.went in for mri wed. aug.25
2010. results were that i had so much metel in me that they were unable to see anything.how do i know what is wrong
with me.

I wish I could help but I'm feeling like you, lost. I'm Sure someone will be able to ease your mind soon. In the meantime, there is nothing wrong with you. You hurt. Why, not sure... But you do. It'll get better :)

I am not sure if this is the right answer or not. I am in the same boat in that I have metal roRAB in my cervical & thoracic region from about C3 to T4 and in the lurabar region from L2 down to the iliac crest regioin.
I had a Ct scan done and the artifacts got in the way of really seeing anything since there were new problems.
The question is can the MRI &/or CT scan be done with contrast. For some reason I am thinking the contrast may highlight areas and make it easier to see things that could not be seen before.
In my case I can't have contract. It is too dangerous for me since I have one kidney and have kidney disease. The contrast would affect the kidney.
Look into the possibility fo a scan done with contrast to see if that may give you some answer. Keep us posted. and Good luck!
