T11 through L4 normal.

L4-L5 disc dehydration, mild disc space narrowing and large 1 cm central protrusion with compression of the thecal sac resulting in severe spinal stenosis to 2-3mm AP dimension. Neural foramina patent.

L5-S1- mild annular disc bulge and annular tear. Central canal and neural foramina patent. Disc dehydration.

Impression:

1. Mild spondylosis lower two levels.
2. L4-L5 central protrusion with compression of the thecal sac resulting in severe spinal stenosis.

I don't like the way this sounRAB. I see an Orthopedic Surgeon this week. What kind of treatment should I expect right off. I'm in severe pain, I can barely walk 10 minutes before I have to sit down. I can't even stand to dry my hair or put my make up on.

Ouch!

No wonder you're in so much pain! Melissa, I feel so bad for you. Did you have an accident or injury, or did this just show up?

If your orth doc won't give you sufficient pain treatment then you might think about seeing a pain management doctor until you get the problem resolved.

Please let us know what you decide to do.

I started experiencing sciatic pain immediately after the birth of my daughter 1 year ago. It has gradually gotten worse. I went to a chiropractor who was unable to help me. The only "accident" I would say I had was picking my daughter up a little funky 2 months ago which seems to accelerate the pain. I don't think that would have caused that much damage though.

Could receiving an epidural during delivery have caused this?

Melissa

I don't know if an epidural could have caused that or not. Since you do have spondylosis that means that you have some degenerative/arthritic changes taking place. Don't let the word "mild" fool you. Many of us have "mild" changes that create quite a bit of havoc with pain.

But the stenosis you have definitely neeRAB to be addressed.

Let us now what the surgeon tells you about options. You definitely need to have something done so that you can take care of the little one.
