hi everyone,i have a question that i have been trying to get answered for a week now.....i had a laminectomy to repair a ruptured disk @ l4/5 4 weeks ago....the dr. didnt actually take a piece of the lamina out,he drilled a small hole in it to get to the disk but anyway i have been off work since the surgery but did not tell my employer that i actually had surgery because if they find out then i will be put on disability due to the manual labor that my job requires,i told my employer that i was just having back trouble and would be off a few weeks after going thru pt......well,i called yesterday to see what neeRAB to be done for me to return to work so i went and seen the company dr. and he SCHEDULED ME TO HAVE AN MRI done next week which will only be 5 weeks post-op.....my question is Will the dr. be able to tell that i have had the laminectomy and if so can he tell that it was recently or could i say it was from 10 years ago??....also,does anyone know what it will say on the mri?..i mean will the radiologist know for certain or could they possibly just think their is an abnormality around the l4/5?....will scar tissue be what shows or the hole in the lamina or both?....i am in a boat with no paddle here!......any info will be greatly appreciated!....-Kevin
