I have had this bad pain for sometime.. I finally got an MRI done and I have the results but It will be a little while before my doc appt. I was just wondering if someone could help me understand them. Thanks
MRI lurabar spine without contrast
Findings: Lurabar spine alignment is within normal limits. There is no fracture or focal bone marrow edema. Disc desiccation is most pronounced at L-4 - L-5. There is a T1/T2 hyperintense lesion in the L3 vertebral body most likley a hemangioma. The conus terminates normally at theL1 level. Mild Multilevel facet arthropathy is present
At T12-L1 there is moderate disc osteophyte complex with circumferential bulge which slightly narrows the central canal but does not compress the conus. There is mild bilateral forminal stenosis without nerve root encroachment.
At L-1 - L-2, L-2 - L-3 and L-3 - L-4 there is nofocal disc herniation or central stenosis.
At L-4 - L-5 diffuse disc bulge in conjunction with mild facet arthropathy causes mild central canal and bilateral forminal stenosis without nerve root compression. There is no focal disc herniation. There may be a small posterior annular tear at this level.
At L-5 - S-1 there is mild diffuse disc bulge without herniation or stenosis.
Impression:
1. Mild disc desiccation and diffuse disc bulge at L-4-L-5 without focal herniation or nerve root compression. There may be small central annular tear at this level.
2. Broad disc osteophyte complex at T12-L1 with disc space narrowing and mild central canal narrowing but no compression of the conus or exiting nerve roots.
Thanks
