"Mr. Miyagi" has died

Some more sad news today, Pat Morita who played Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid and was also known for playing Arnold in Happy Days, has died at the age of 73.
 
He was hilarious in Happy Days

My favourite moment in the KK movies was when Daniel asked Miyagi what kind of belt he had and Miyagi gave his usual humourous response

What a truly shit day. after George Best and now finding out that the man that taught us to `paintafence` has gone to the great movie cast in the sky.
 
why are so many people passing away recently? Eddie, Miyagi, Best...jeez. Sometimes life really sucks.

Already posted in a topic about this in the Showbiz thread but I'll repeat that I am really saddened by the death of Noriyuki 'Pat' Morita yesterday. As a child of the 80s this guy was my hero for much of my younger years. Mr Myagi will always be a legend in my eyes. I was even looking forward to him appearing in the film version of Steve Alten's book 'Meg' next year playing Masao Tanaka, but obviously now that will not happen.

Pat joins Eddie Guerrerro and George Best as hereos of mine that have passed away recently.
 
Saddened by this news. Only thinking about buying the KK boxset the other day.

Only saw him a documentary about Las Vegas the other day as well as his cameo in an Alien Ant Farm music video.

Aw man. :( Him and George Best? Dead. What a weirdly sad day this Friday has been.
 
i'm 30 and the first time i saw the first Karate Kid film was on video at school (last day of middle school i think),every lad came out that room and pretended they were a black belt in Karate lol.

Odd, he was in the chinese restaurant scene in the Glenn Close film on C5 yesterday afternoon, exactly the same time as the first post above.
 
Just seen a Sky trailer with Ed Byrne, shows a bloke washing his car, and he says "let's forget about Mr Myagi...."
That's unfortunate timing Sky :o
