MP4's on S60v3?

K I'm confused. When I record a video on my N73, it transfers back to my PC as an MP4, right? But yet when I'm using Nokia's Podcasting app to subscribe to say, AllAboutSymbian's video podcast (that posts in mp4) it won't playback on my device.

I've tried everything that I can think of. When I click to view it, it pulls up a blank web browser page. You can't get to them through the gallery or Realplayer, and Smartmovie doesn't like them, either.

Any help??

I think there are 2 different standards for mp4 - H263 and H264. You'd have to check this but as I remember your phone would play H263 and H264 is the ipod standard. I believe that PVPlayer can handle the Ipod video

I'm downloading and installing PVPlayer right now, I'll post if it works. thanks for the headsup.

*Update* - installed, but it doesn't see the Mp4 files from the AAS videocast. I can't find anywhere in this app to rescan the file system or import a file.

what's interesting is that if I pull up y-browser and go to the files on my memory card, they show as wap.wml links instead of media files.

Ricky,

Try downloading the mp4 to your comp, then transfer to your phone (rather than use the Nokia podcaster app). I think that the Nokia podcasting app isn't fully downloading the videos, but is rather making a link to them becasue IT doesn't recognize the file format (regardless of whether or not the phone does). I've never tried the pod app with videos, only audio... but I have a feeling that becasue Vodcasting isn't that prevalent (though it's becoming more so), Nokia got lazy on that portion of the podcasting app.

Just a theory.

that's what i read as well. however PVPlayer couldn't play a video clip i converted to H264 format using ffmpegX. i hope you'll have better luck with trying the podcast.
