I currently live in an apartment building with expressvu service. I am about 10 months into my 2 year contract (Renting 2 5900 PVRs). I plan on moving still within the same city (Ottawa) to another apartment building. If I happen to move into a unit that does not face the southwest direction (or if the lanlord does not allow Satellite dishes to be installed, would Expressvu charge me a cancellation fee if I have to cancel due to 1 of the above reasons?

Another question to tag along with that. Assuming I am able to have expressvu service at the new place. What are the moving options expressvu has ($$, etc).

Thankyou.

"If Yes, what are the cancellation fees"

They might but I was told when I signed up that the early cancellation fee may be waived under some circumstances.

Under a two year contract, the cancellation fee is $200 in the first year of the contract, $100 in the second year.

You will have to fax us a proof that dish is no permitted were you live...

If tech can not get any line of signal then he would write it in his report and there won't be any cancellation fee...

If you hjust move your service you leave the dish there, bring the receiver and remote and we send a tech to install a new dish and ONE receiver. There is a 50$ CHARGE for any additionnal receivers

Yes, I was in the same situation and I was forced to pay the cancellation fee. For me, I reduced my sub to the minimum for a couple months so I would be in the last year of my contract and only pay the $100. I tried talking to a few reps and non seemed willing to budge on the fee.

Djino if you have any problem come back on the forum and let me know, i'll give you our fax number to send us the letter from the owner and have you cancellation fee credited

That's not what is written on my contract, $200 in the first year, $100 in the second.

Depend when you sucribed to the service... ALL IN ONE and other rental contracts before have different policies.

Before all in one it was 100$ after the first year + 149$ per receiver (for all province except Quebec) or + 66$ per receiver (for Quebec).

On some other contract it used to be the cost of the minimum package for the remaining month for a maximum of 200$ on 2 year contracts + 149$ or 66$

For all in one clients i'm missing the information, will come back to post it

If you are to deactivate service make sure you ask the RETENTION agent to give you the deactivation charge. They are so many different types of contracts, and since we are not the ones deactivating the account can not say for sure what the charges will be unless we verify with them

That's kinda funny regarding the cancellation fees because I canceled on the weekend (4 months into 2yr contract) and the CS rep told me its gonna cost me $100 and $50 because I have one receiver. :)

I guess I got a deal. :D

I was fully expecting the $200

No deal there those are all in one package, the ones I didn't had the prices for..

I signed up in June of 2006 and I am considering cancelling my service.

Is there a way to find out what charges there will be?

Not really on topic for a moving thread but based on previous experience with Bell, I would call more than once and ask for a list of costs associated with the cancellation in writing. If you just go by what they tell you, I doubt that i) you will get the same answer from different reps and ii) when the charges hit they will say they don't know what you are talking about if they are different han what was quoted originally. Billing dept. seems to have no records of any CSR you may have spoken to. Heck, most CRS's don't know what you discussed with other CSRs when you get transfered in the same call!

Each CSR should on each call put a note on the account as the reason of your call, even if they didn't answer your question and they have to transfer you. Altought, withe the constent pressure of the AHT (Average handle time) which Bell lowers about each month, agent have less than 10 minutes to do their greeting, solve your problem, offer you self serve tool, ask you if your satisfied with the service, discover your needs, make a sales offer, close the sale AND write a note. You can imagine why so many notes never get written.

The policies are the same for all call centers, so regardless of which agent you talk to, the answer SHOULD be the same.

If you cancel because you move out of the contry, you can not have BEV in the building were you move, there is a municipal law that forbids it, early termination charges will be charged! We could reverse the charge if we are sent a proof of that

Agent Express V

How do I know if I were signed up to an all in one plan?

I currently rent a 9200 PVR and a regular 3100 reciever I think.

I'm signed up to digital essentials and pay for HD channels, etc

I am 10 months into a 2 year contract and I am being given my notice to move out of the apartment and where I will be moving I cannot get a satellite dish.

How much am I looking at paying to get out of this contract?

You have just posted the exact question I originally posted when starting this thread.

djino
"hmmm"

Dwager you won't pay anything if you could provide us with a letter from the owner of the new building where you moved to prove that BEV is forbidden where you move.

I will PM you the fax number later on tonight
