...be equipped with? I am moving to South Lake Tahoe and have the option of bringing my 1995 Honda Civic DX. Is it possible to suit it up with snow tires and be able to drive around? This place get on average over 400" of snow. Can anyone give any tips or suggestions?

You should be fine with snow tires on in the winter, just make sure they have tread, take it easy driving, and plan your travel around the weather. Subaru's and other 4 wheel drive systems really do help a lot...but remember IT WILL NOT HELP YOU STOP. So many times in snow storms and inclement weather you see 4 wheel drivers off the road, wrecked, or worse because they are so cocky...mentality is half the battle.
