Moving to Northwest Territories? (Fort Simpson)?

Just Me

Hey all, I'm considering a job in the NWT (Fort Simpson). I have a million and one questions about everything up there. If someone knowledgeable wouldn't mind contacting me that would be great! But in the interim..(I must say, I've researched enough to know about living conditions, lack of resources, sealifts, online shopping to get what you need lol)

What are the general costs for housing, internet, phone, cable, groceries and daycare?

What are much needed items that are hard to get there that I could bring with me? (I was considering doing a BIG Costco run before I come up and of course the good winter clothing).

I've read a blog that someone posts on in Nunavut. He said that you could make do without a car and just use a snowmobile most of the time. Of course, Fort Simpson is much more southern then that. Would I need a car? I would consider buying a snowmobile or an ATV. Which would be best and what are the costs for good used ones?

Do they sell all basic groceries in the store? What about dairy products? I'm mainly wondering if there will be skim milk or if I should buy powdered here. I know that in my friend's northern town there in one store that sells skim.

Any extra info, ideas, and facts would be much appreciated!
