Movie twists *(poilers included)

The latest one that I didn't guess and was fantastic was from The Orphanage, I didn't see it coming that it was the Mother's fault(accidental) that her son died and that he had been in the massive basement all along. :(

I also enjoyed the twist in the first Saw movie, I knew the twist before going to see it but I absolutely love it when Jigsaw gets off the floor after all that time lol, the music in that scene is excellent too.
 
I did like the twist in Old Boy where you found out that the woman he'd fell in love with and slept with was his daughter. But I got that semi ruined for me when someone spoke to me about it before I watched it and said 'Ohh the incest film'
 
To this day I am still suprised whenever anyone says this. I remember being shocked when everyone else was so suprised at the end when I had assumed he was a ghost for the entire film. I NEVER get twists ever, and yet ironically the twist that is supposedly the most devious of all time is the one I found entirely obvious! Maybe that's why I thought the film was pants.

Although I didn't like how it was revealed, and it's not really a twist, I love how the ending of Tell No One unravells. I won't spoil it.

The end of Identity is pretty nuts actually as well now I think about it. Completely unexepected in every way, no clues whatsoever.

From Dusk Till Dawn: I sat down to watch that film truly believing that it was just another Tarantino-related gangster flick, I had no idea there were vampires involved!
 
Soylent Green. 'It's people!' That got me the first time I saw it.
The Game.
Planet of the Apes (remake). The twist in that is you've been suckered in to wasting two hours of your life watching a load of cobblers. :eek:



I always thought he'd already killed the man responsible for murdering his wife sometime ago, and the cop guy had been using him for his own enRAB ever since. I could be wrong though!
 
I'm like you - I never ever see the twist coming, apart from in that film, when I thought it was meant to be obvious from the start.

Another one I remember is Jacob's Ladder - my friend insisted on getting me to watch it, he was insistent that I'd be blown away by the twist. About 20 minutes in I jokingly said "I expect he actually died at the start and this is all a dream isn't it?" - and my friend nearly had a heart attack.
 
Sixth Sense had the most obvious twist in years,but then I've seen dozens of post Carnival of Soul 60's and 70's horror movies.

The Jacob's Ladder twist was quite good once,but now it is predictable.Good movie if you don't know it's a 'twist' movie.
The twist does it damage,IMO.
 
The Prestige - the nice thing about that one is that you can watch it again and spot the clues.

Psycho - I saw that when I was very young - it was more of a soiler than a poiler :)
 
there is no twist in American Psycho - the writer (BEE) and the director have implicity stated that

In fact she says she is annoyed that people think that there is twist as it means the message is lost.



For me I have only been caught out majorly twice - therefore they are the best (in my mind!!)

Fight club (best twist ever IMO )
