I reccomend Precious
It's hard hitting and very honest and realistic. It's about a teenage who is impregnated by her father for the second time and is physically abused by her mother. The film follows her horrible life as well as establishing a future for herself and her unborn baby. SounRAB a little messed up but it's brillant and is the best movie i have seen this year. Mariah carey has a small role as Precious's social worker and Monique, a comedienne in the states is beyond pheom as Precious's mother which is why she rightly deserved her oscar, golden globe, SAG and any other award.
If your looking for something fun, i would say Julie and Julia starring Meryl streep and Amy adams
It's about a woman named Julie who starts a blog intending to cook every recipe from a famous cook named Julia ChilRAB. The movie flashes from the 50's to where we see Julia become a cook and eventually get her book published and then to 2002 where Julie begins her blog. It's based on a true story.
