movie question on hitting women?

I've noticed nearly every film now a days shows a man getting hit in between the legs,this is ment to be funny,i've seen it in countless films,but ive never seen a movie where a woman gets hit in between the legs,now of course it wouldn't hurt a woman as mush as a man for obvious reasons,but according to my girlfriend it still hurts like b***h when a girl is hit in between the legs,i'm curious why its never shown in movies,is it a double standard?whats your take on it?
