Movie camera work and endings (specifically The Wrestler)

Hi,
I watched this last night and the first thing that jumps out at you is the camera work. Kind of like a documentary style.
Is there a technical name for this type of filming?
Do you like it?

Also, what do you think of ambiguous endings? Do you mind being left to decide for yourself or do you think it is a copout from the writer/director?

The last thing like that I can remember causing a fuss was the last scene of The Sopranos.

Its certainly not a cop out when done well. Seeing you've mentioned it, The Wrestler was hardily a cop out and the ending suited the story. Does he deserve to live or die, its up to the audience. After all he risked it all to be back in the ring, but at the same time was doing what he loved. A problem with many wrestlers and the results are there to be seen. It didn't need a final answer, the message itself came across strongly to justify it.
