A strawman is not logical.

Celebrities typically aren't saying the government should pay to clean up the mess other companies create. Typically they "cry and whine" that companies shouldn't be allowed to destroy the environment.

So again. Without a strawman this time. How is it logical to say that celebrities are being hypocritical for not spending their personal money to fix a problem they think shouldn't be allowed to happen in the first place?

This brings up a good question. Where are all of those environmental groups that say they truly do care about the environment? Why aren't they out there spending money and busting their backs to save the earth? That is, after all, what they do for a living right?

Or, is it that they don't care enough about the environment to do anything about it, they care enough to allow the environment to suffer so they can push their policies through against those big bad oil companies and the terrible Republicans?

Most of them aren't willing to spend their OWN money to do shit, they'd rather spend OTHER PEOPLES money.

Costner at least puts his money where is mouth is.

I think of it this way, if they don't care enough about the cause to willingly donate a large portion of THEIR money to it, then I shouldn't be FORCED to pay for it either.

There are some excellent knockers in that pic

Are they providing shade for pastey white girls?

I bet they are saving their money to launch a marketing campaign against oil companies.....complete with footage of the spill in LA's coast, birds with oil on them, documentaries, expert analysis, bankrupt fishermen, etc, etc

Also they are probably building a small army of lobbyists on their payroll
EPA's prescription is a mix of continued strengthening of vehicles standards for cars, heavy duty trucks, airplanes and trains, more electric vehicles, and investing in transportation choices and other measures that will reduce how much we drive. Using 6.7 million fewer barrels of oil every day by 2030 is worth fighting for.
That took about 30 seconds on the Sierra Club website. Who do they expect to pay for these investments?

That's one. Go find others, and you can start with Al Gore.

Calling my argument a strawman is pathetic, since it should be patently obvious to most observers that environmental groups expect "somebody" to do "something" about the problems they're concerned about. That obvious and (I thought) uncontestable viewpoint automatically begs the question- if it's so important, why are they asking others to pay for it?

What self serving bullshit. How the fuck do you get the gall to post something like this?

They're carrying the black tarp over sunbathers to mimic the oil spill.

What a bunch of douches. Boobies not included.
