Mouth tingling

My mouth has been tingling for about 24 hours, so has the tips of fingers on both hands. I had a brain scan a month ago and all was normal and fine.

I take prozac 20mg a day and have been for 2 years. What could it be i have no idea, but its scary.

just wondering what type of brain scan you had done and what the reason was that it was even ordered for you? when you mentioned that it showed everything was 'fine',were you merely TOLD that by some type of doc or did you actually read thru your own report yourself to see what any possible findings were?

trust me, when it comes to certain types of docs, espescially the 'specialists" of any kind, you do NOT always get told about everything that was actually even found upon particular scans, only what any doc 'feels' is or is not really 'pertinent' at the time. and what any doc actually knows with real experience even IS a particulary significant finding really comes down to 'their' overall knowledge and experience with it. if you do not yet have your own copy of that scan report made by the radiologist,i would very highly suggest that you just obtain one for yourself so YOU can read thru it. you just need to make certain that anything and everything that could have popped up as a real finding was actually talked about with you. any real 'hard findings" would all be summed up with most reports, right in the 'summary" at the very end. just some stuff i thought you should know. i have been down this particular road as well as many others who have had this occur as well. many who have posted on these boards have had significant findings not actually told to them in any given report either. it IS a rather sick thing to do with certain types of findings not told to the patient at all.

how are you feeling right now? are your symptoms still occuring? anything new pop in or has this progressed to any other areas? just knowing what i asked at the very beginning here would help alot. FB

the first thing I thought of was calcium levels. When i had 1/2 my thyroid out, they told me to watch for tingling in the mouth because it could indicate a calcium deficiency, if they had messed up my parathyroid glands in the surgery

Rose,

Thats very interesting, can you have your calcium levels measured by blood tests?

As for the brain scan it was ordered by my ent specialist after i had been having some fainting or near fainting spells. The radiologist who is a Consultant read and reported the report saying the scan was perfectly normal. I suppose I should get the report so that I can get someone else to interpret it.

Im seeing my cardiologist friday because i have a loop recorder in my chest because of the fainting and palps. I dunno it seems to be relentless at the moment, i bet its my darn perimeno starting. Please God let it come and go quickly !!
