mountain bike to bmx bike?

me and my brother took his old trek 240 and made it into a single speed by removing all the twist shifts and the front break and shortened the chain and it works great now we are going to paint the frame matte black and then we are going to put bmx bike handle bars on it. good idea or not. i want it to look cool

I am guessing that the tires wont be 20". it may be more like a racing bmx bike, but it sounds like a cool idea to do. good idea.
