Okay, so I have a hardtail mountain bike (Trek 4300 Disk). After some muddy riding, I cleaned it, but the suspension seems to have stiffened drastically, as now there is hardly any give. Anyone know whats wrong?
The fork has a lockout to reduce shock motion. Check to see if you accidentally turned it to the on position while cleaning it.
Otherwise, something (dirt or water) got into the mechanism & it needs to be disassembled (by someone qualified) and cleaned & lubed properly. But I doubt that's the problem.
