And its a bit pricey too. It makes sense to stick with the gold, but I was thinking the Diamond Like would look sick... maybe I'll just do the internal Ohlins Cartridge and have the uppers of the Showa Anodized Black for now (until I can afford the 3K upgrade). Thanks for the pics.

Interesting. I talked to Dan Kyle about the need to coat the forks with DLC or the gold nitride and he says they're not as critical as many people make them out to be. I don't remember all the details but talking with him was enough for me to be OK with just doing the 25mm catridge upgrade to my stock Showas and not worrying about getting any of the coating done.
 
it is not 100% crucial as I agree, and on an 848 I will stick with just cart, but coating the forks is better. Dan will tell you what you want to hear tho and wants to make a sale, just keep that in mind when it comes to dan kyle.

The coating provides a smoother stroke and smoother suspension performs better no question about it
