My boyfriend did a factory reset on his phone byaccident he did *228 option 1 and option 2 but is now unable to call out or text out or anything. How can we resolve this without calling CS.
 
You guys really NEED to get in contact with customer service.

It is usually difficult/impossible to resolve issues yourself.

The guidance of customer service will help.

But here's a heads up: try *22899. No need to press any options. It will do a similar thing to *228.
 
Rarely are they an issue to most people.

Usually when you do the normal troubleshooting one time, they fix the issue and you'll never have it again.

Also, dialing *228 option 1 after the initial programming (meaning dialing it more than one time during the life of the phone) can damage the device.
 
Well the customer service wont reactive his phone beacuse he told them what happened since they asked when he noticed it so I hope one of those *228 numbers will work.

*22899 says programming unsuccessful call cs.... I dont know how to get his phone back activated because CS wont do it and he needs to be able to call out on his phone.
 
ok I will tell him to call again... Hopefully they will help him when he calls back. I didnt have tis much hassel from them when I reset my phone but they also didnt ask me when I noticed the problem either like they did to him. I got mine reactivated with no question asked but they are giving him a hard time because he did a reset and he wasnt authorized to I guess they told him. I dont think the things should be available on the phone if you cant use them.
 
When you hard reset (factory reset) your device, you shouldn't be forced to contact them to reactivate your device---it was never deactivated! All you gotta do is perform *228 option 1, and your phone works. I have hard reset my device many times.
 
Yeah he did that and it didnt work. It wouldnt let him call out or anything. Same thing happened to me.
